Excerpt from "The Nature Of Life",
by Jeffrey Brownstein.
I realize that the limiting beliefs I perceive as "truth" are simply my attachment to the past. Who I've been before plays no role in who I can be right now.
Sometimes it's hard to believe in yourself, I think it's because we have a tendency to over complicate things, and believe we have to have all the pieces of the puzzle in place to achieve our dreams right now. Isn't that the old saying? "You have to map it out step by step and just follow the map."
Just keep it simple. Whatever you desire, just go as far as you can see, and when you get there, the next step will be revealed to you. In my experience, the journey never goes as planned. So keep your eye on the goal, but don't be attached to a specific way to achieve it. You will be surprised at what shows up to help guide your way.
If you can't see how it's going to happen, and begin to focus on that, this type of thinking will create anxiety, or negative emotion, which produces more thoughts like that, and you will only create misery in your mind from that point of reference. How will this mindset serve the creation of your dreams? You have no motivation to move forward when in this state of mind or being.
Instead, focus on taking inspired action. It feels different then action taken from a place of fear. Trust that life will point you in the direction you need to go.
We have grown into a society that focuses on instant gratification, and it has become a habit. Like biting your nails, you don't think about it, you just find your hand in your mouth. We have become accustomed to living our lives running on automatic. And our thinking is pretty much the same way.
Of course we want everything now,we have 30 minute lunch breaks, fast food, fast cars, advertisements that create a sense of urgency to keep up with the Jones's, and the list goes on.
Our minds are so occupied with drama, it's a wonder we can focus on anything! Life seems to fly by in a buzz of distraction, and as long as we are in a state of distraction, our dreams will be pushed by the wayside, and we've all been there!
Ask yourself,"What's really important?" and give yourself permission to set time aside to focus on that. If you don't, in the end you will feel resentful that you allowed life's distractions to use up your life, without ever really feeling like it meant anything. Don't be afraid to put yourself first, unconditional love always starts with you loving you. You can't pour wine from an empty vessel.
Let me ask you, would you rather be distracted by life or moved by it?
I want to be moved by it, make a contribution to it, and assist others in changing their lives.
Don't worry about fitting in, being politically correct, or being acceptable in the eyes of others, they will never experience the consequences of your choices-only you will. This is your life-live it!
I used to teach a dance class, and I told my students there is a difference between dancing for the approval of others, or finding your dance and sharing it with others, only one is your authentic self, the expression of your signature frequency, the part of you that is as individual as your thumbprint. And, only one will mesmerize the crowd to applause!
Message from my soul group teachers:
One of my favorite movies was The Wizard of Oz, so my guides used it in this analogy when I felt stuck:
If Dorothy knew how to use the ruby slippers in the beginning of her journey, would she still have chosen to face the witch and taken back her power? Where within yourself are you not believing you can overcome your fear of failure? Your unconscious beliefs are the wicked witch inside, it is the inner critic, but this aspect within you does not seek to lead you in love, but hold you hostage in fear. It doesn't want you to try fearing the shame of failure. You must earn the gift of the "Ruby Slippers" by empowering yourself-for that is what activates them. The gift of the slippers is confidence in yourself, that you can overcome any fear, because fear is a projection from within mirrored back to you by an outpicturing. Every setback you see is in you.
